Bench vice

A bench vise is a type of vise that is mounted on a workbench. It is used to hold an object stationary so that it can be worked on with hand tools.

The bench vice is used to clamp materials such as wood, metal, or plastic in order to cut, shape, or drill them. It can also be used for holding objects while they are being glued or painted.

Bench vises are often used in woodworking and metalworking workshops. They are also found in machine shops and factories where they are often permanently mounted to the floor or a large table and may be electrically powered.
